I used to do a fair bit of travelling, and I noticed that pretty much everywhere I went people said that unlike everywhere else all anyone in their part of the world ever talked about was the weather. And pretty much everywhere I went people said, “If you don’t like the weather, just wait a while, it’ll change.” Except in Arizona, which kind of figures.
So although I know the weather around here has its ups and down, I don’t usually remark on that aspect of things. But I will admit that there’s a bit of a head-shaker going on just now. A few days ago we had weather warm enough and humid enough that there was a humidex reading–humidity was going to make it feel warmer than it really was. And now things are apparently going to get cold enough that there will be a wind chill reading–making it feel colder than it really is.
‘Wait a while’ indeed. But apparently we don’t have to wait long.
