Hey friend, how’s your day? A bit of weather around here, seems like we haven’t had two days with the same conditions for a while now. As I look around I notice some of the summer blooms just past their peak, I was hoping to get a picture of the rhododendron but I missed it. May not have another chance, but they were nice while they were here. It always seems like we’ve only just started into the warm season when we start to lose some of the first flowers. But they brought us through from the end of the spring daffodils and such to the first show of the roses and the hollyhock that are about to come. I remember my dad going around and planting these last year, nice to be able to think of him. The hollyhock don’t flower the first year, but all but one seem to be doing really well. And those are just the one’s that I know about. There could well be more. I imagine I’ll find out, there are more than a few of them that look like they’ll be blooming in the next couple of weeks. I haven’t been able to spend much time in the garden the last little while, although I’ve managed to get out and pull the worst of the weeds in most places. I know there are things that aren’t doing as well as they might because I haven’t been able to give them the care they need to flourish, but I accept that I have limits. And there are parts of the garden that are doing well. Mostly the parts that really don’t need my interference. Which is a good thing to be reminded, I don’t mind. And I don’t think that’s the only lesson in this day, but it is one of them.
